Ban of Xray technology in Airport

The European commission decision to ban the use of x-ray technology for full scanning at airports. The main aim is to avoid the jeopardizing the health and safety of passengers at the airport and travelers. There is a requirement of 27 member countries who need to follow strict and mandatory safeguards. The rules will be for the protection of the fundamental rights and the protection of health of the passengers.

The decision marks as taken up by US so as to increase the number of scanning at the airports. Even though x-rays expose the passengers to low levels of radiation which is almost equal to some minutes of flying. People are naturally exposed to ionizing radiation but to that of the normal level and reducing radiation is unavoidable. Some radiation ionizing has cumulative effect and the risk of cancer exists when we are exposed to more radiation.

The number of people exposed to radiation is quite high says some of the reports given in National Academy of Sciences. The X-ray scanners across airports have become questionable considering the millimeter wave scans. The millimeter scan uses radio-waves and unlike the x-rays the radio waves do not ionize the molecules of the human body. At present there are about 250 millimeter wave scanners which have been use in the US airports.
